Dogara, Babachir Lawal-led Northern APC members declare support for Peter Obi

Following the declaration of support for the Labour Party Presidential Candidate by the Northern Christian bloc of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Peter Obi’s presidential ambitions have received a significant boost.
The Aggrieved Northern APC Christians urged their members to back the Obi/Datti ticket in 2023 in a recent statement.
In a statement titled “, the groupThe document titled “Why We Have Decided to Endorse the Obi/Datti Ticket,” which was signed by one of its leaders, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal, stated that the decision to back Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and his running mate Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed was made after a thorough evaluation of the other options.
The group referred to the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the APC as “satanic,” stating that it is a well-thought-out strategy to sow religious division among Nigerians and that Northerners are their intended target.
The full statement is provided below:
Why We Have Decided to Support the Obi/Datti Presidential Candidate In contrast to those who have patiently waited for our advice on where to pitch our tent and as one of the most vocal critics of the APC’s single-faith presidential ticket, we now wish to endorse the Obi/Datti presidential candidate.
We wish to momentarily portray exactly couple of reasons among numerous why we have supported this ticket and recognize it to all Nigerians of clear mind who want equity, value and an amicable conjunction of all Nigerians across clans, religion and international locales.Furthermore, the false information that I have given up on the PDP is currently in circulation.Nothing could be further from reality. To me the PDP and APC are generally indistinguishable.
1 The APC’s plan to spread religious and social division among Nigerians is well-thought-out and deliberate. It is abundantly clear that Northerners in particular are the evil plan’s intended targets and victims.Because of the activities of a number of enigmatic criminal groups, the entirety of Northern Nigeria is currently mired in a number of insurmountable socioeconomic issues.Due to kidnappers and bandits preventing people from leaving the safety of their homes, agriculture, the northern economy’s mainstay, is almost nonexistent.Travel between cities, whether for business or pleasure, has almost completely stopped because of unsafe roads and the fear of kidnapping, armed robbery, and other forms of banditry. For fear of kidnappers, our rural schools have nearly closed.Universities owned by the government have closed, denying the already-poor children of the Northern masses access to affordable higher education. As a result, bandits and kidnappers can easily recruit our unschooled and idle children.Additionally, no solution is apparent.
Then, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a well-known Yoruba hegemonist who was once quoted as saying, “I do not believe in one Nigeria” (THISDAY, The Sunday Newspaper, April 13, 1997, page 9) comes up with a Muslim-muslim ticket out of nowhere, fully aware that religion is the underbelly of Northern Nigeria. Tinubu also championed the establishment of a Ministry of Regional Integration in each state government of the South-West geopolitical region,The APC’s same-faith ticket is a ploy to use religion, the most potent tool for social discord, to further divide Northerners.According to a quote by Karl Max, “religion is the opium of the people.”This Tinubu/Kashim same-faith ticket must be seen by Nigerians of all social classes as a proposal from hell that can only be conjured by the most machiavellian minds known to man. As a result, all supporters of our nation and its nascent democracy must reject it in good conscience.
However, Tinubu’s vice presidential running mate, Alhaji Kashim Shetima, once said, “Restructuring my foot, let’s restructure our minds.”He ruled Borno State for eight years at a time when Boko Haram was reshaping the minds of its victims against Christianity and western education and nearly taking over the state at will. The kidnapped Chibok and Dapchi girls, in addition to a great number of others, are gradually making their way out of the Boko Haram indoctrination camps, where they have been fully converted to Islam and are giving birth to Muslims in captivity. This is a textbook case of “mind restructuring.”Additionally, there is the small matter of an alleged close relationship between the APC vice presidential candidate and Boko Haram! And who among Christians can forget Kabiru Sokoto, the alleged leader of Boko Haram who is accused of being involved in the Christmas bombing of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Madallah, which killed 44 people and injured 77 others who were Christians?Or that the aforementioned Kabiru Sokoto was ultimately detained at the Borno State Government Lodge in Abuja, where he was hiding out?Are Christians not entitled to be afraid of a government led by these two individuals?
2.Without a doubt, APC’s equivalent confidence ticket is planned to disgrace Christians and offer to them and their religion a below average socio-political status in their own country. It is especially a confirmation of the discrimination and oppression against Christians in Northern Nigeria, who are now denied employment, promotion, contracts, and admission to read prestigious and marketable courses in schools owned by the government simply because of their religion. Therefore, it is not surprising that Alhaji Bola Tinubu believes that the Bible is a book of jokes from which he can freely construct his “jokes,” such as the jokes about “Speaking in Tongues” and “Poisoned Holly Communion.”I challenge him, if he is mature enough, to make fun of the Holy Quran even once, just like he does the Holy Bible. This individual has absolutely no regard for Christians or Christianity.
3 The APC ticket goes against the grain of Nigerian politics, which has always sought to achieve a religious balance in its politics and governance in practice (if not in law).It is important to note that each of the other seventeen political parties that are putting forward candidates for the presidency have followed established conventions and practices and put forward candidates of other faiths.Aside from the fact that it encourages social discord, the APC’s same faith ticket makes no sense at all.
In addition, only the Obi/Datti ticket has the potential to address the genuine clamor for power shift to the South-East and the cry of marginalization by our people of the South-East in our quest for justice and equity in the country’s sociopolitical and religious space.Clearly, at this point in our political journey, a Christian/Muslim presidency like Obi/Datti’s will be best, especially since we are currently transitioning from a Muslim/Christian presidency. It will also achieve the popularly envisioned regional shift of the presidency from the current NW/SW to a SE/NW.This is fairness; This is fairness.Peace and harmonious coexistence among our nation’s various sociopolitical and religious classes are engineered in this example, which is political engineering at its finest.
5 Nigerians should also resist the temptation to be ruled by the same courtiers, who recycle themselves, their children, and their friends in a monarchical manner, moving in and out of government to the exclusion of other social groups. We now find ourselves impoverished, unsecured, divided, severely underdeveloped, and massively unemployed as a result of this trend, with a widening gap between the rich and poor in society. While the PDP is a transmutation of NPC/NPN that is similarly dominated by the children or grandchildren of those who once ran and ruined the NPC, a keen observer will not fail to notice that the APC is a transmutation of Action Group/UPN that is dominated by the children or grandchildren of those who once ran and ruined the Action Group.A government of either the APC or the PDP will only be a reincarnation of the same group of individuals who have ruled and ruined the country since independence. Is it any surprise that Nigeria has not changed?
The Obi/Datti will provide us with a breath of fresh air and the best chance to rescue our nation from the quagmire into which a recurring group of self-centered reactionaries has led us.
6 There is also a palpable sense of fear and anxiety about the possibility of a Fulbe with the same tribe, religion, region, and courtiers taking over the current presidency.A greater fear of a Fulbe hegemony remaining in the country has resulted from this.In addition, many Nigerians believe that the Fulbe are the primary perpetrators of the banditry and kidnappings that are currently ravaging the nation.Due to the fact that the majority of the perpetrators are related to Fulbe, there is a widespread perception that a new Fulbe-led government will not have the political will or inclination to address the country’s security issues.
There is also the perception that the current government makes appointments based more on cronyism between ethnic and religious groups than on nationalistic motives.A fear that another Fulbe-led government might continue this trend has resulted from this.We are presented with these terrible choices by both APC and PDP.The Obi/Datti ticket has a great chance of relieving us of these issues.
7 Lastly, the tendency to divide the nation along regional, tribal, and religious lines is beginning to show up as the political campaigns get closer to the election dates. We can clearly see that the APC has turned to a tribal card after its original strategy of using a same-faith ticket to win over Muslims with a form of jihad was disastrously unsuccessful. In the South-West, the tribal card “it is our turn” is the current battle cry.The PDP, on the other hand, is inclined to adapt APC’s religious and ethnic strategies in the North because it sees new opportunities in the party’s failed jihad strategy.
Nigerians need to be aware of these very dangerous trends in the campaign because any political party that comes to power by appealing to religious or ethnic sentiments may not be able to govern effectively and may exacerbate social divisions.
As a result, moral men should look for opportunities that bring us together rather than divide us.This chance is only available to the Labor Party. As a result, we appeal to all patriots to support our nation in this presidential election. This election for president puts the future of Nigeria in jeopardy.Only Obi-Datti can lead you to success.Perdition is reached in every other way.
