Election in Anambra: Man Confess How They rigged polls for Soludo

Anthony Onuoha, the suspect who was arrested on Thursday by the Ebonyi State police command for allegedly stealing a car, admitted to working with over 30 election riggers in the Anambra election in favor of Prof. Charles Soludo last year.

Along with other suspects, Onuoha claimed that they were hired by a single Uche General to rig the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) election for governor.

After the election, the suspect claimed, they were given a car and $50,000.

He claimed that: Because I was one of the 30 people who were kept in one location to work for APGA, a car was given to me in November of last year following the election of governor Soludo. After the election, we were promised a car and fifty thousand naira.

“The car, not the fifty thousand naira, was what drew me to work for APGA. I went to Anambra Express that November; I was selected by Mr. Uche General, whose name I do not know. The section was overseen by General Uche.

My role was to ensure that we were kept at Awka North on election day to thumbprint ballot papers. We signed our name to support Charles Soludo, the APGA candidate for governor, and we agreed that they would give us a car and $50,000 at the end of the day.

“Out of more than thirty people hired for the job, nine of us were given a car. They gave me this car and fifty thousand naira to fuel it, he claimed.

However, the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Soludo, spoke to DAILY POST through Mr. Christian Aburime, his Chief Press Secretary, and quickly stated that the suspect, Onuoha, should face the law.

During the most recent election in Anambra State, Soludo claimed that he had no dealings with the suspect.

He claimed that: The suspect should face the full force of the law from the police. We don’t know him, and all he’s doing is lying to get away with it. He is a common criminal who is unknown to anyone. In addition, BVAS was utilized in the Anambra State election of the previous year. So, where did they print their thumbs?

In that Anambra election, there was no such thing as thumbprinting. BVAS was used by INEC in that election. That individual is unknown to us, and the governor of Anambra State is unaware of him. Additionally, the APGA political party is unaware of him. He emphasized that the individual must face and carry his cross because he is alone.
