A Nigerian soldier has lost his life after being injured by military aerial bombardments in Kaduna State.
The soldier suffered terrible injuries when the Nigerian Air Force fighter jet bombed fleeing bandits at Labi along the Kaduna – Birnin Gwari road.
A security source who disclosed the incident to PRNigeria said the air force mistook the ground troops for the bandits and carried out the airstrikes which injured the deceased soldier.
According to the source, the ground troops came into contact with the fleeing bandits who took another route to continue their movement but were blocked by intelligence.
The source noted that the ground troops described the location of the armed bandits and their herds of cattle to the air crew before the incident that left one soldier dead occurred.
