Finland-based blogger gives reason he refused to become a registered member of IPOB

Disowned ally of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Simon Ekpa, has revealed his reason for not taking the oath of office to become a registered member of the separatist group.

Not everyone needs to become a legitimate IPOB member by taking an oath of office, according to the embattled Finland-based activist.

In a broadcast on his blog, enterbiafra.com/channel1/, he said he did not need to be a registered member of IPOB to work for the actualization of an independent state known as Biafra.

“The reason I have not and will not take oaths in IPOB is because I want to proof to the world that somebody can work for IPOB without being under oath,” said the blogger.

OAK METRO reports that the rift between Mr. Ekpa and the leadership of IPOB worsened after the group stopped him from anchoring Radio Biafra following his refusal to sign the rules of engagement.

Ekpa, who saw the refusal to allow him to anchor the radio station, criticized and called for disobedience to orders issued by the IPOB leadership, saying the leadership had compromised.

Meanwhile, IPOB members have disowned Mr Ekpa, claiming he is a “social media bandit”.
