Ganduje slams the CBN once more and calls the naira policy “COVID-23.”

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has been unrelenting in his criticism of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s naira redesign policy, describing it as a disease and giving it the name “COVID-23.” The governor also criticized Godwin Obaseki and Duoye Diri of Edo and Bayelsa states, respectively, for going to court to support the CBN’s naira policy.

Abba Anwar, his Chief Press Secretary, stated in a statement that Ganduje spoke on Monday at the Government House to launch the distribution of palliatives to alleviate the difficulties brought on by the lack of naira notes.

“We will not stop blaming the CBN for this economic error,” he declared. We adore our neighbors. As a result, until the appropriate channels and appropriate time are established, anything that will jeopardize their well-being must be rejected.

“Neither did we pray for this to happen nor did we invite it; consequently, we do not at all welcome it. During the COVID-19 days, we administered similar palliatives. Additionally, the CBN is presently bringing COVID-23 to our citizens. We had previously assumed that it was a straightforward illness, but it turned out to be a highly contagious virus.

“All of our commercial banks, our POS systems, our ATMs, and everything else associated with this have been impacted by the virus that originated from the CBN. We are most affected by this unfortunate development because we are the most populous state in the nation.

The palliative care recipients, according to the governor, would span the state’s 44 local government areas.

In the meantime, Ganduje stated that “opposition parties took the situation to court supporting and protecting CBN in this ill-timed and anti-people policy” surprised him.

That was not carried out at the most appropriate time or manner. The PDP governors of Edo and Bayelsa are at the forefront of this error. Additionally, the NNPP stated that the governor of Kano State’s decision to reject the CBN’s naira swap was incorrect.

“I wonder what is wrong with telling the truth that this anti-human and ill-advised phenomenon is seriously affecting all Nigerians?” Ganduje inquired.

According to him, the PDP and NNPP wanted Nigerians to continue living in poverty.
