Group drags Buhari to international court

At the ECOWAS Court of Justice, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) filed a lawsuit against President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
The group took the action because the government didn’t look into illegal pipeline operations between 2001 and 2022 and didn’t name or charge anyone they thought might have been involved.
SERAP is suing the Buhari government in Abuja for an order requiring it to immediately name and prosecute the suspected perpetrators of illegal pipeline operations and oil theft.
Plaintiffs claim that Buhari largely squandered the country’s oil wealth in secret and failed to use the country’s oil wealth for the benefit of Nigerians.
The hearing in Eric Dooh’s lawsuit, which he is bringing on behalf of himself, his Goi community, and 15 other concerned Nigerians, has not yet been scheduled.
