How Fulani bandits killed 1,192 people, abducted more than 3,000 in Kaduna in 2021

As many as 1,192 people were killed in Kaduna State in 2021, by Fulani jihadists commonly known as bandits in the northern part of Nigeria.

More than three thousand people were abducted by the jihadists who killed some of the victims and freed others after paying a ransom worth millions of naira, said Shehu Sani, a former senator representing Kaduna central.

According to Sani who revealed it while expressing worry about the worsening insecurity, the number of victims in 2021 exceeds the number of people killed and abducted in Libya and Yemen.

In a tweet on Thursday, the former lawmaker urged President Muhammadu Buhari to secure Kaduna first before returning to the state after his term.

Fulani herdsmen and other Islamist terrorists have killed thousands in Nigeria and displaced more than 80,000 civilians, according to reports from human rights groups which added that insecurity has worsened since 2015 after Buhari, a Fulani Muslim, became president of Nigeria.
