I fought Covington with broken hand – Usman

UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, has uncovered that he broke his right hand three weeks prior to overcoming chief opponent, Colby Covington, at UFC 268 recently.

Usman crushed Covington by means of consistent choice after five rounds at the Madison Square Garden in New York to hold his welterweight title for the fifth time and his second success over the American.

“I broke it (right hand) before the battle,” Usman said. “A great many people didn’t realize that. I broke it three weeks prior and I didn’t toss it daily until the actual battle.”

“I didn’t toss it until right behind the stage,” he added. “I didn’t toss my hands for quite some time, my right hand.”

The ‘Nigerian Nightmare’ revealed that he harmed the hand while preparing with partner Justin Gaethje.
