Tyson Fury claims he has looked to set up a piece with Anthony Joshua multiple times over the most recent five years — yet demands they won’t ever meet since he is resigned and his ‘diva’ rival scuppered the proposed sessions.
Heavyweight rivals Fury and Joshua marked terms in March 2021 for a huge standoff that would have been one of the most rewarding battles ever, just for a court mediation to arrange the Mancunian to confront Deontay Wilder all things being equal.
Joshua lost his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO against Oleksandr Usyk in London in September 2021, a month prior to Fury took out Wilder briefly time in Las Vegas to hold his WBC and The Ring heavyweight titles.
Fierceness’ US advertiser, Bob Arum, said recently that he would ‘do all that can be expected’ to guarantee his contender meets the champ of Joshua’s rematch with Usyk, which happens in Saudi Arabia on August 20.
Unequivocally excusing the possibility of a piece with Joshua, Fury told iFL, “I attempted to make that battle multiple times at any rate, in my memory, over the most recent five years and have been fruitless each and every time since you’re playing with a diva who would rather not battle.
“A long time back, when he was an undefeated knockout craftsman, individuals thought, ‘guess what? He could beat Tyson Fury, perhaps.’
“Then, at that point, when Anthony Joshua got skipped off the material by Andy Ruiz (in June 2019), individuals said, ‘he’s a jock — Tyson’s right, he hasn’t got an opportunity.’
“Then when he looked amazingly s*** in the (December 2019) rematch against Ruiz – who didn’t prepare for a day, coincidentally, he was out in Mexico celebrating with the president – individuals said he was shot to bits.
“Then, at that point, he proceeds to get beaten by a cruiserweight (Usyk). That bird has flown. I’m the undefeated heavyweight lord.”
