INEC breaks silence on liking Twitter post calling Obi opportunist

A verified Twitter account of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) liked a post about a presidential candidate.

On Wednesday, the official INEC Twitter account liked a post in which Seun Kuti, the eldest son of the late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, called the Labour Party’s presidential candidate Peter Obi an opportunist.

Since then, Kuti’s position regarding the Labour Party candidate for president has sparked controversy, particularly on social media.

However, in a statement responding to the incident, the commission maintained its neutrality and stated that it does not have a preferred candidate.
