Insecurity:Army reshuffles authority, names new officers

The Nigerian Army has on Friday, reported a reshuffling of its initiative by designating new General Commanders, Corp Commanders, Commandants of preparing foundations, Brigade Commanders, and Commanding Officers among others.

As per an assertion by the Defense Headquarters, endorsed by the Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, supported the posting and arrangement of a senior officials to handle the spate of safety breaks shaking the country.

“A portion of the senior officials selected as General Officers Commanding are Major General UT Musa from Headquarters 81 Division to Headquarters 82 Division and named GOC, Major General TA Lagbaja from Headquarters 82 Division to Headquarters 1 Division and delegated GOC, Major General OC Ajunwa from Nigeria Defense Section Brasilia to HQ 81 Division and designated GOC , while Major General AS Chinade was redeployed from Depot Nigerian Army to Headquarters 2 Division and selected GOC.

“The recently named Army Headquarters Principal Staff Officers incorporate, Maj Gen OW Ali, from Headquarters Command Army Records to Army Headquarters Department of Army Administration and designated Chief of Administration (Army) Maj Gen S Muhammed, from Defense Headquarters to Department of Army Standards and Evaluation and delegated Chief of Army Standards and Evaluation (Army), Major General JA Ataguba from Army Headquarters Department of Army Standards and Evaluation to Defense Headquarters and designated, Director Peace Keeping Operations, Major General A.A Adesope from Headquarters Nigerian Army Finance Corps to Defense Headquarters and named Chief of Defense Accounts and Budget, Major General U.S Mohammed from Army Headquarters Department of Administration to Nigerian Army Resource Center and arrangement Senior Research Fellow.

“Other senior officials impacted in the redeployment are Major General PB Fakrogha, from Defense Headquarters Garrison to Defense Space Agency and designated Director Policy Plans and Research, Major General MO Enendu, from Nigerian Army College of Logistics to Defense Headquarters and delegated Director Psychological Warfare, Major General AE Attu from Defense Headquarters Department of Defense Training and Operations to Defense Headquarters Garrison and named Commander, Major General BE Onyeuko from Defense Headquarters Directorate of Defense Media Operations to Defense Headquarters Department of Logistics and selected Director Procurement.”

The recently selected Corps Commanders are, Major General AM Alabi, from Nigerian Army Ordnance School to Headquarters Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps and designated Corps Commander Ordnance, Major General A Mohammed, from Nigerian Army Farms and Ranches Limited and to Headquarters Nigerian Army Electrical Mechanical Engineers and named Corps Commander Electrical Mechanical Engineers, Major General E Akerejola from Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport to Headquarters Nigerian Army Corps of Transport and delegated Commander Corps of Supply and Transport, Major General AA Fayemiwo from Nigerian Army Welfare Holdings Limited by Guarantee to Headquarters Finance Corps and named Chief of Accounts and Budget (Army).

Senior officials recently named as Commandants of Nigerian Army Training Institutions are Major General PI Eze, from Defense Headquarters Department of Procurement to Nigerian Army Ordinance School and designated Commandant, Major General AA Adeyinka from Army Headquarters Department of Army Logistics to Nigerian Army College of Logistics and selected Commandants, Major General PP Malla from Army Headquarters Department of Army Administration to Depot Nigerian Army and delegated Commandant as well as Brigadier General UT Otaru from Defense Headquarters to Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport and named Acting Commandant.

The recently delegated Brigade Commanders are, Brigadier General DH Ndahi, from Nigerian Army Resource Center to Headquarters 4 Brigade and named Commander, Brig Gen FS Etim from Amphibious Training School to Headquarters 6 Brigade and designated Commander, Brigadier General EA Orakwe from Headquarters 6 Division to Headquarters 19 Brigade and selected Commander, Brigadier General JO Are from Army Headquarters Department of Army Standards and Evaluation to Headquarters 3 Brigade and named Commander, among others.

The Chief of Army Staff, consequently, coordinated every one of the recently selected senior officials to intensify their work and obligation to obligation in handling the security challenges perplexing the country, as they accepted their new arrangements.

This is additionally coming after the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), had on Thursday, met with the security bosses in Abuja.
