IPOB: Calls for Election Boycott gaining Popularity as more groups join IPOB, calls for Total compliance

OWERRI – Two groups of elders in Imo state, Ndi Nna Imo (NNI) and Omezi Obodo Cultural (OOC) group has bought into Nnamdi Kanu’s call for an electoral boycott. The group demanded a referendum, adding that Nigeria has failed as a country.

The spokesman for the elders, Nze Onuoha Agbarakwe, accused the governors of the southeast, Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo and the political elites, of trading with the interests of the Igbos.

“We expected the governors of Ohanaeze and the Southeast to deliver our people, that’s why we pushed and supported them, but they have disappointed us so much just as Nigeria failed the masses”

“Those we voted into office are the ones killing our people today, the ones we call our governors are those who help the Nigeria government and the army kill our youth. On this note, we join our son, Nnamdi Kanu, to call on everyone in the Southeast to boycott the presidential elections. We will not vote”

“The current crisis in Nigeria is due to disunity as a result of forced unity. Election is not what a reasonable government should be discussing and planning at this moment, but it should be a referendum. The government should start a process to hold a referendum so that the masses can decide their future,” said the group’s spokesman, Nze Onuoha
