JUST IN: “Disregard IPOB”, Presidency Urges Nigerians, Says Buhari Is In Japan

SAHARANEWS – The federal government of Nigeria has urged Nigerians to disregard the claim by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), that President Muhammadu Buhari did not arrive in Japan for the ongoing seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development.

IPOB had claimed that Buhari’s photos in Tokyo, published by the presidency, are false.

In a statement received by SaharaNews, the president’s special adviser, Garba Shehu described IPOB’s claim as invented stories.

He said: “The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) group has had nothing to do with President Muhammadu Buhari since he arrived Yokohama, Japan, on Monday.

“Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora are urged to disregard concocted stories, backed with spurious visuals, of any protest or harassment of the President and his team. It is the stock-in-trade of hate mongers, who do not realize that the rest of Nigerians have left them far behind.
