LP withdraws his request to withdraw Obi’s cases against Tinubu in a letter.

The Labour Party has distanced itself from a widely circulated letter signed by Lamidi Apapa, the self-proclaimed factional national chairman of the party, requesting that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal dismiss all cases brought by Peter Obi, the party’s presidential candidate, against the emergence of Bola Tibubu from the All Progressives Congress in the general election on February 25.

As per an assertion made accessible to writers on Tuesday by the party’s acting Public Exposure Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, on Tuesday, it mostly read, “We encouraged the Court in Abuja to ignore the jokes by Apapa, who us a suspended Representative Public Executive of our party.

By this statement, we are instructing all branches of the judiciary, including tribunals and courts, to ignore the shameful behavior of these compromised suspended party members.

“We are likewise approaching the police, DSS and EFCC to capture these adversaries of a majority rules government,” the assertion added.

Ifoh spoke on Channels Television’s Politics Today, supporting the party’s position, claiming that Apapa is trying to undermine Obi’s victory with his actions.

He maintained, “Nigerians will resist this ploy to plunge the nation into unnecessary turmoil” by approaching the tribunals to withdraw all cases filed by Labour Party candidates across the board.

“As a result, the leadership of the Labour Party is urging the tribunals to disregard any letter from Samuel Akingbade, our suspended National Legal Adviser, stating that all of our cases will be withdrawn.

However, Apapa has stated, “Since the court had suspended Abure and other national officers, I am the next to take over,” claiming that he is the party’s acting national chairman.
