Melaye is told by the INEC Chairman, “You’re now deliberately being disruptive.”

Former Senator Dino Melaye, the National Agent of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), challenged the results that were presented on the floor of the National Collation Centre in Abuja on Monday, which resulted in some minor drama.

Melaye had noted on Monday that the overall numbers did not match the results that were announced on Sunday for Ekiti State, where the APC candidate won.

As a result, Melaye requested that the State Coalition Officer for the Presidential Election (SCOPE) and Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the presenting state read the results live on screen.

Prof. Mahmood Yakub, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), responded that Melaye’s observation had been taken into consideration and would be implemented. He stated that Melaye and other party agents were supposed to have presented and corrected the majority of their observations at the ward, local, and state collation centers.

Melaye, on the other hand, protested and demanded that his observation be implemented prior to the collection of results from other states.
