‘Nigeria’s unity is not negotiable’ — Buhari insists, declare war on IPOB, Igboho group

President Muhammadu Buhari has issued a strong message to secessionist agitators, warning that his administration remains ready to take decisive action against them.

He made this known during his 61st Independence Day speech on Friday morning.

During the broadcast monitored by DAILY POST, Buhari said: “Nigeria is for all of us. Its unity is not negotiable. And its ultimate success can only be achieved if we all come together with a common goal of having peace and prosperity for our nation.

“We shall continue to work on dialogue based solutions to address legitimate grievances.

“But we remain ready to take decisive actions against secessionist agitators and their sponsors who threaten our national security.”

Buhari also claimed that arrests of Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho “have revealed certain high-profile financiers behind these individuals”.

Kanu is currently in detention of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja.

However, Igboho was apprehended in Cotonou, Benin Republic, after attempting to flee to Germany.
