Nobody is protecting us in this country, someone should resign — Melaye

Former Kogi West lawmaker, Senator Dino Melaye, says someone should have resigned for the supply of adulterated petrol across the country.

The petrol, with high methanol, has resulted in long queues in filling stations across the country as fuel scarcity bites hard.

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, NMDPRA, mentioned that the supply of petrol with methanol quantities above Nigeria’s specification found in the supply chain was responsible for scarcity and long queues at filling stations.

Melaye, on Thursday, took to his Twitter page querying the Standard Organisation of Nigeria and other quality control agencies in place for failing to do their jobs.
