North should succeed Buhari, complete 14 years – Dogara

Yakubu Dogara, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, has said that the North should take over Nigeria for another four years as President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor.

Dogara claimed that the North would benefit from equity and justice if he continued to lead Nigeria for another four years after Buhari.

He explained that if the North had ruled Nigeria for another four years, it would have outlasted the South.

Dogara stated that the South has ruled Nigeria for 14 years while the North has ruled for 10 years in Zonkwa, Kaduna State.

Dogara made the observation that the South had produced former presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Olusegun Obasanjo, whereas the North had Yar’Adua, who served for only two years, and President Muhammadu Buhari, who served for all of his years.

Dogara claims that: Furthermore, Jonathan is a Christian, and Obasanjo is also a Christian; Jonathan ruled for six years, while Obasanjo ruled for eight.

Because I am a Christian, I stated that we have ruled this country for 14 years if we combine the two. Yar’Adua ruled for two years and Buhari for eight, for a total of ten years.

Therefore, the only way we can be fair is to give Muslims a break of four years. Additionally, the two Christian Presidents are from the South, giving the North a four-year break.
