Obi pledges to negotiate with Biafra agitators.

Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, said on Tuesday that the presidency of Nigeria is not a retirement loan and that the country needs a stingy leader right now.

In addition, Obi stated that he was the youngest, fittest, and most qualified of the four leading candidates and that he owed no one any apologies for being stingy.

As part of his nationwide campaign, he made these remarks in front of a crowd of party members and supporters at the All Saints Cathedral Field in Onitsha, Anambra State.

The Labour Party candidate had previously met with Anambra Traditional Rulers and other stakeholders at the Government House in Awka prior to traveling to Onitsha.

He stated, “The presidency is not about turning; rather, it is about capacity because if it were about turning, people like us would insist that it is our turn and should be considered.”

“The job of a president is to unite and rebuild the country, not to build a retirement home or any other kind of settlement.

“They said I was a stingy man,” I responded. “They didn’t say I was extravagant or that I embezzled public funds. All they said was that I was stingy.” “I tell you the job and the Presidency of our country needs a stingy person,”

He stated that he would negotiate with agitators to bring peace to the country that has become overrun by agitation, but that if those responsible for insecurity and agitation refuse, “we will tell them that we have a government in Nigeria” would be his response.

“All we are coming to do is end suffering and build a new Nigeria,” he stated. Today, no one is safe in Nigeria, and families are begging for food. Nigeria will be protected and united by us.

“In Nigeria, I will carry out what I did in Anambra.” We will negotiate, but if he rejects, we will inform him that a government exists.

We will support all businesses because Nambra is a manufacturing and trading city. The same will be done in Borno, Lagos, Kano, and Kaduna. Nigeria will be productive in every area.

“We’ll open the roads. I tarred every road in Onitsha that you see. I created Nigeria’s best road network. Nigerians who left will return; If we take power, we will need to export money to keep the naira stable and bring it back up.

“There is no combination of us and others; you cannot manage wealth if you have not created it.” I and Datti are both businessmen. The only way Nigeria can change is to give wealth creators control of the country.

Yusuf Datti, Obi’s running mate, said that he chose to work with Obi because he believes in fairness, equality, and justice.

He insisted that the election on February 25 had already been won and asked Nigerians to hold them accountable if they didn’t keep their promises.

Mrs. Margret Obi, the LP candidate’s wife, urged eligible voters to apply for Permanent Voter Cards, describing them as their means of removing undesirable leaders.
