Our mission is to kill bandits, not to take them as prisoners of war: COAS Yahaya

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant-General Farouk Yahaya, on Sunday in Minna charged soldiers to wipe out presumed scoundrels and criminals and take their weapons.

Mr Yahaya settled on the decision during a functional visit where he introduced a few offices for the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Headquarters, Nigerian Army.

“I’m here in Minna today as a feature of my functional visits the nation over to ginger our troopers for the steady employment they are doing.

“I ask them to proceed and to be more fearless and definitive in managing the hoodlums.

“At the point when we draw in hoodlums like scoundrels and criminals, we are not searching for detainees of war yet to kill them and take their weapons.

“That is the thing that we will keep on doing until we stamp them out,” he said.

Mr Yahaya said that a few spaces of difficulties that were featured by the leaders would be dealt with by the tactical power.

The COAS emphasized that the military was putting forth a valiant effort with other security offices to handle weakness the nation over.

“There is a requirement for the general population to give exact and helpful data to the security offices to handle uncertainty.

“Assuming we accept security as everyone’s business, we will have more collaboration and develop what we are doing,” he said.

The COAS initiated TRADOC officials’ travel convenience and arms store for TRADOC, and a nursery and elementary school for the Nigerian Army Officers Wives’ Association.

He will likewise introduce a Doctrinal Development Conference for TRADOC in Minna on Monday.

The meeting has “Limit Building of the Nigerian Army in Doctrinal Development for Effective Training Operations in a Joint Environment” as its topic.
