PDP is God’s property, it is where God belongs to — Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, on Friday boasted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is God’s property.

He said the party remained firm in its resolve to offer better governance.

He said the party was willing to take over power in 2023 to change the fortunes of the country.

The governor spoke at a special reception for a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche, who returned to the party.

Wike also took a swipe at a former Director-General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dakuku Peterside, saying his criticisms would not compel the All Progressives Congress (APC) to give him a governorship ticket.

He said: “When he (Peterside) was Commissioner for Works, a project they said was about N20billion, they gave the contractor N1.5billion as mobilisation. How can the project be completed?”

Addressing Nwuche, he said: “You’re welcome to where God belongs to. The property that God owns.

“This property called PDP is being owned by God and that is why it is the only household organisation you can find in this country.

“No matter whatever that happens,  PDP is still very strong, very firm and very willing to change the fortune of this country.”

Wike described Nwuche as a democrat capable of adding value and not liability to the PDP.

He said his party was only interested in wooing persons who can contribute to the party, work for the welfare of its members and speak for their people.

He urged members of the party to dismiss fears that they would be displaced by Nwuche in the scheme of things in the party.
