PVC: IPOB responds to Simon Ekpa’s five-day sit-at-home plan in Southeast

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has distanced itself from the Southeast’s planned sit-in, which is scheduled for December 9 to 14.

According to reports, Simon Ekpa, a self-described disciple of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, had announced that a sit-at-home order would be imposed on December 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, or 14 to stop the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

His earlier announcement that the upcoming general elections would not be held in the Southeast may be related to this move.

In response to Ekpa’s order, IPOB issued a statement by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, urging residents of the region to disregard the directive and stressing that it was not part of it.

The group exhorted locals to go out and collect their PVC without fear of being harmed.

Some agents, according to the secessionist group, were sponsoring Ekpa to cause the region “insecurity and unnecessary hardships,” the group claimed.

The assertion peruses to some extent, “Each Biafran and occupant in Biafra Land ought to overlook such requests from undeveloped and brainless people whose plan is to make Biafra unsettling ugly to our kin.

“IPOB can’t issue such a brainless merciless 5-day successive sit-at-home request to experience our kin during this crucial season when individuals are attempting to make up in their organizations for the year.

“The intention of a Nigeria agent and his sponsors’ five-day home sit is to demonstrate their level of wickedness and hostility toward our people.

“How vile! Again, everyone has the right to go to their polling and registration centers and get their PVC without being abused. IPOB has nothing to do with Nigeria’s shoddy elections and never boycotts them.
