Qatar 2022: Ronaldo told to leave Portugal’s World Cup team

After being benched against Switzerland, Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister, Katia Aveiro, has urged her brother to immediately leave Portugal’s 2022 FIFA World Cup squad in Qatar and return home.

On Thursday, Aveiro made this assertion in a lengthy and affecting post on her Instagram page.

Keep in mind that Portugal coach Fernando Santos removed Cristiano Ronaldo from the starting lineup during their 6-1 victory over Switzerland in the round of 16 tournament.

Aveiro acknowledged, in an Instagram post, that while she was pleased that Portugal had won, she could not ignore the disrespect Ronaldo was receiving from his nation.

She stated, “I am glad Portugal won… (I have witnessed Portugal win numerous times) And even this does not invalidate the smallness of a significant portion of the Portuguese people.” And this is wrong because they keep cursing, insisting on offense, and showing ingratitude.

“Too depressing with what I’ve read and heard outside of Qatar, in my country, and in his country… But really depressing. and I so desired it.

“I really wanted him, Ronaldo, to come home, leave the national team, and sit next to us so we could hug him, tell him everything is fine, and remind him of what he conquered and where he was born.
