Rivers State women gathers for prayers for Biafra and Nnamdi Kanu’s release

The women of Rivers State prayed on Tuesday for the victory of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, who will appear in court on Thursday to stand trial.

A video posted to Facebook by Maxwell Chuks shows the women praying in a church for the IPOB leader who faces charges of treason and other baseless crimes.

Nnamdi Kanu, who was arrested in Kenya and illegally repatriated to Nigeria, is scheduled to appear in Abuja High Court on Thursday, October 21, 2021.

Ohanaeze, many Igbo groups and others have urged the federal government to ensure that Kanu is brought to court for a fair trial.

Meanwhile, IPOB has said it will shut down the southeast and engage in civil disobedience if the federal government fails to bring Nnamdi Kanu to court on Thursday.
