SAHARANEWS – There is still controversy on how Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, escaped from Nigeria when the Nigerian military raided his home in Umuahia, Abia State on September 2017.
Twenty eight people, including Kanu’s cousin and dog, were killed during the military invasion.
IPOB had alleged that the military abducted Kanu in the raid.
Nigeria’s former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode also claimed that Nnamdi Kanu was held captive in a naval ship. Other speculations also followed Kanu’s whereabouts.
Kanu’s sudden appearance in Israel in 2018, marveled everyone including the international community.
Up till this day, the IPOB leader is yet to disclose how he got to Israel from Nigeria, and this has challenged the capability of the Nigerian government in the area of border and airspace security.
