The Department of State Security in Imo State on Tuesday said a trade of savage gunfire between a joint security group and the prohibited Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its equipped member, Eastern Security Network (ESN), on Sunday brought about the passing of seven thought hooligans.
The DSS authority who argued namelessness said with the help of Chinonso Mmerem (otherwise known as Network), one of the captured ESN individuals, the joint security group did the activity in a Camp at Awo-omamma and not at a wedding as guaranteed by the young people.
The Department of State Security revealed this in an explanation made accessible to columnists while marching the suspect, at the order in Owerri, Imo State capital.
The DSS demanded that the casualties killed on Sunday were individuals from ESN and not visitors coming from a wedding function as against prior reports.
The Imo DSS, “Following the capture of Chinonso Mmerem (also known as Network), an individual from IPOB aggressor wing, ESN, a sting activity was led by a joint security group on 17” July 2022, to capture individuals from the group of thugs threatening Awo-Omama and different pieces of the state.
