UPDATE:Following six-hour hearing, Benin court releases Igboho’s wife, remands activist

The becoming aware of an argument against the Yoruba Nation extremist, Sunday Adeyemo, otherwise called Sunday Igboho, went on for over six hours on Thursday at Cour De’appal De Cotonou, Benin Republic.

Igboho, who was captured at Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou on Monday night, is being pursued for movement related offenses.

After three meetings, the court requested the arrival of Igboho’s significant other, Ropo, while the dissident was gotten back to cell.

The meetings began at 10am and finished at about 8pm, yet there were discontinuous breaks during the conference.

The consultation was deferred till Friday, however it was accumulated that the court probably won’t sit today (Friday).

A source said Igboho, who was captured around 8pm on Monday by the International Criminal Police Organization was summoned for migration related offenses.

The extremist and his better half, were captured at the air terminal when they needed to get a trip to Germany.

Review that the Department of State Services assaulted Igboho’s home in the Soka space of Ibadan at 1am on July 1, 2021, captured somewhere around 12 of his partners and killed two others during the grisly attack.

The DSS representative, Peter Afunanya, sometime thereafter marched the partners of the lobbyist, shown a few international IDs including that of Igboho, AK-47 rifles, rounds of ammo, African tactical armor carriers, among others as displays.


In the mean time, similar to the Federal Government, the six lead representatives in the South-West international zone have kept mum over Igboho’s capture and arranged removal in Cotonou.

The lead representatives are Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), Gboyega Oyetola (Osun), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), and Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos).

Endeavors to get the remarks of Akeredolu, who is the Chairman of South-West Governors’ Forum, demonstrated unsuccessful as the Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo, neither accepted a few calls to his line nor answered an instant message shipped off his line by our reporter.
