Joe Biden, the president of the United States, has issued a warning that if China threatens its sovereignty, the United States will defend itself.
The statement was made by Biden on Tuesday during his State of the Union address to the joint Congress in Washington.
If Beijing’s economic and political policies are in line with those of the United States and the rest of the world, the US president stated that he would be willing to collaborate with Beijing.
However, as reported by CNN on Wednesday, he added that his nation will defend its sovereignty against any Chinese aggression.
According to Biden’s statement, “I am committed to work with China where it can advance American interests and benefit the world.”
“But don’t get me wrong. . . We will protect our nation if China threatens our sovereignty.
Following the Pentagon’s discovery of a Chinese spy balloon flying over the United States that was shot down over the Atlantic Ocean, tensions between the United States and China have risen. Biden made these remarks during his State of the Union address on Tuesday night.
The development has necessitated the cancellation of a planned trip to China by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
