What will determine the release of Nnamdi Kanu — Abubakar Malami

Nigeria’s Attorney-General, Abubakar Malami, has revealed what will determine Nnamdi Kanu’s release.

OAK METRO reports that Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was “abducted” in Kenya and illegally repatriated to Nigeria in July 2021 for advocating for an independent state known as Biafra.

Malami told the NTA in an interview on Tuesday that the separatist leader’s release would be determined after considering the welfare of Nigerians and majority of public interest.

The interest of a group of people who pleaded with President Muhammadu Buhari will not be taken into consideration for the release of the IPOB leader, Malami said.
