Why we will not allow Nigeria’s peaceful international trade on sea — BnL

The Biafra Nations League, BnL, said it would not allow a peaceful atmosphere for Nigeria’s international trade at sea in the Gulf of Guinea.

Ebuta Akor Takon, deputy leader of the pro-Biafra group revealed this on Wednesday, saying the group had reached the decision following the Nigerian government’s refusal to recognize the right to self-determination and allow a referendum.

Takon, while condemning the use of force against unarmed agitators and the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB), blamed the federal government for the violence and clashes between security agents and unknown gunmen in the southeast.

Speaking on calls for dialogue with Biafra agitators, the BnL said no negotiations to replace Biafra would be allowed.

The group admitted that the tension at the Cameroonian border is caused by the operations of its members who hoisted Biafran flag at the entrance to the border last week.

He said protests against them in the Bakassi Peninsula are being organized by the Nigerian military which has threatened residents to disassociate themselves from the group or face military actions.
