The victory of Tinubu is not God’s plan for Nigeria.–Obi

Peter Obi, the leader of the Labour Party (LP), responded on Monday to claims made by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that the recent presidential election victory of Bola Tinubu should be accepted as God’s will.

Remember that Mrs. Aisha Buhari, the President’s wife, said last week that Bola Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential election was God’s will.

“We should all accept it as God’s will, regardless of our diverse interests; Without his grace, we could not have accomplished it.

It’s a victory for everyone in Nigeria. I have high hopes that the President-Elect will not violate the confidence and trust that Nigerians placed in him. She stated, “It is now time to move on and concentrate on the path of “a renewed hope” for Nigerian youth and women.”

However, in a post-election interview with Arise Television that was monitored by TRIBUNE ONLINE, Obi criticized the First Lady for stating that God’s wish is to act in the right way rather than the other way around.

He responded emphatically when asked if he would accept Tinubu’s victory as God’s will, as some religious leaders had rightly claimed; They are actually preaching about Nigeria’s problem. The issue of Nigeria is tolerating bad behavior and what is unsuitable. That is involving God’s name to no end. God is not saying that in that way. God told you not to waste my name.
