Ayu’s verdict on PDP’s 16-year failures, not mere slip of tongue – Tinubu Campaign

The People’s Democratic Party PDP national chairman’s declaration that his party has failed and must not remain in power has been deemed valid by the All Progressives Congress APC Presidential Campaign Council PCC.
Related News APC denies allegations that it was attempting to hack the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System BVAS, which is being used by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC for the purpose of verifying voters, and claims that the proposed installation of the Emir of Aba is a ploy to incite pre-election violence in S’East.

“The unraveling of the depraved PDP reached extreme absurdity yesterday when its National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu while campaigning in Kano, declared that the party brought shame to Nigeria,” Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Director, Media and Publicity of the Council, said in a statement on Friday.

“Ayu’s verdict on his own party should not be seen as a mere slip of the tongue,” says Onanuga.

The council noted that it was truly an expression of the former senator’s inner thoughts and was a self-admission of the party’s egregious failures during its 16 years in power.

The following is part of the statement: The general consensus that the party failed the country and its people and should never be given a chance to return to power is echoed by Ayu’s widely shared statement that “PDP has brought us shame and we will not retain them in power.”

The Ajaokuta Steel Complex is one recent instance that serves as a reminder of the umbrella party’s failure. As the head of the Obasanjo era privatization program, the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, granted Global Steel a concession in 2004 to acquire the business.

“When it discovered that the concession was a mess, another PDP government canceled it. Even though Global Steel failed to fulfill the terms of the concession by making Ajaokuta a reality, it filed a lawsuit against the government of Nigeria and demanded $7 billion in compensation.

Before the APC administration of President Muhammadu Buhari intervened, the case languished for 12 years. Global Steel agreed to settle its legal dispute and receive $496 million from Nigeria.

“Atiku Abubakar recently traveled to Kogi state, the home of the unfortunate Steel company, to make another empty promise of reviving the company without showing any remorse or shame.

“Atiku probably wanted to capitalize on the sluggish memory of our people because his party has been running a conman campaign to recover Nigeria when it was responsible for the enormous damage that the APC government has been working to repair for almost eight years.

The PDP also abandoned our national infrastructure—roads, rail, and airports—while in charge of Nigeria. In particular, Obasanjo, Atiku’s boss, and Atiku failed to complete essential road networks, including roads to their towns. The road leading to Atiku’s town in Jada, Adamawa State, has now been completed by the APC government of President Buhari.

“The PDP shared the $2.1 billion meant to acquire arms to fight the Boko Haram insurgency, making our soldiers vulnerable to the superior weaponry of the enemies of the state and allowing insecurity to fester,” which is the “worst of all and most callously” thing that happened.

“In its degenerated state, the PDP has been making outlandish claims and raising false alarms in the last few days to just grab the headlines because the party and its perennial presidential candidate have nothing tangible to tell Nigerians about their sordid past.

“The sleepwalking Director-General of the PDP, Aminu Tambuwal, who has no record of any achievement in Sokoto State, where he has been Governor for almost eight years, will construct an imaginary plan by the APC to hack INEC server and BVAS if PDP campaign spokesmen are not making false claims that billions of dollars are being stashed away by our presidential candidate.

We believe Nigerians are aware of the real hackers. This was done in 2019 and may be planned for this month by Atiku’s PDP. By voting against the party that brought our nation backward, Nigerians must finally eliminate PDP from our political landscape, as it has become a significant threat to both itself and our nation.

Iyorchia Ayu, in our opinion, did not suffer from tongue slippage. The APC PCC continued, “He was only reflecting an inner guilt about the grave damage his party caused to our country for 16 years.”
