A few prisoners in Kosere Correctional Center, Ile Ife, Osun State, endeavored to escape on Tuesday yet were repulsed by security agents.
Naija News accumulated that one of the detainees assaulted a jail superintendent, while others constrained their direction through the entry of the jail office.
Talking with The PUNCH, a security source uncovered that four prisoners were shot dead while endeavoring the escape during the morning disinfection.
The source said: “Four prisoners were killed. A jailer was likewise harmed. The occurrence occurred during morning sterilization on Tuesday.
“They had wanted to get away and one of them assaulted the corrections officer, while others constrained their direction through the main entry, however the security men repulsed them and simultaneously, four prisoners were shot.
“They at last passed on. Also others that needed to escape ran back when those that drove the endeavor were shot.”
As of the hour of recording this report, that Osun State Comptroller of Corrections, Lanre Amoran, had visited the office for an on-the-spot evaluation.
