BREAKING:Lagos Carpenter Jailed Seven Years For Pouring Acid On Ex- Girlfriend, lover – Crime(SEE PHOTOS)

An Ikeja high court on Wednesday condemned a craftsman distinguished as Onyekachi Agu to seven years detainment for pouring corrosive on his ex and her new darling.

A single count of causing grievous harm was brought against Agu, 32, at his arraignment.

The offense was said to negate segment 245 of the criminal law of Lagos state, 2015.

The presiding judge, Oyindamola Ogala, stated during the trial that the suspect lied and retracted his confessional statement in an effort to avoid being punished.

Ogala said the suspect likewise neglected to introduce his sibling who he asserted he was with upon the arrival of the occurrence.

The victim’s behavior was deliberate, and the judge found him guilty of the charge against him.

The judge stated, “The defendant tried to mislead the court by claiming to have been with his brother on the said day, but he failed to corroborate his evidence by giving the date and day he visited him.” The defendant claimed to have been with his brother on that day.

“His brother, whom he attempted to use as an alibi, could not be found to testify in front of this court.

The defendant never refuted the use of corrosive substances on the victims.

“The activity of the respondent was viewed as an aim.

“The casualties displayed to the court, the degree of harm to their bodies.

“After three years of being together, the defendant’s former lover’s testimony about how he had harassed and assaulted her led to their breakup.

“Considering the proof under the watchful eye of the court, I thusly view the respondent to be blameworthy of the charge against him, and he is therefore condemned to seven years prison term.”

The carpenter, according to the prosecutor, committed the crime against Aishat Adefarati, his ex-girlfriend, and Monsuru Ahmed, her new lover, on July 3, 2020, at the Gangare Hotel in the Mile 12 area of Lagos.
