Kenya Supreme Court Rules on Presidential Election Petition

Kenya’s Supreme Court has maintained William Ruto’s triumph in last month’s official political decision, excusing his adversary Raila Odinga’s cases that the vote was defaced by apparatus and abnormalities.

The request is excused, the seven-part court said in a consistent choice read by Chief Justice Martha Koome on Monday.

In the political decision hung on August 9, the authority results showed that Ruto, who is by and by the VP, got 50.5% of the vote, while Odinga, who is a previous state leader, got 48.8%.

The decision makes room for Ruto, 55, to be confirmed as President Uhuru Kenyatta’s replacement one week from now.
