Ladipo, the new exco, urged traders to steer clear of issues that could cause division.

At the weekend, the newly elected executive council of the Ladipo International Spare Parts Market’s Aguiyi Ironsi section was sworn in with a mandate to unite all traders for the market’s growth and development.

The new exco, led by Onyebinanma Chukwuma, more commonly referred to as Ikukuoma, and with Anigbo Cajetan serving as vice chairman, made a promise to include all other competitors, traders, and customers in order to create an environment that is favorable to all stakeholders.

Following Peter Umeh, the association’s legal counsel,’s inauguration, Mr. Chukwuma promised that his exco would make trading a wonderful experience for both traders and customers if they followed the government’s rules.

The Electoral Committee, led by Mr. Kareem Adebayo Fatai, held the election to select the association’s new executive director for the next two years.

With 514 votes, Chukwuma and Cajetan beat Kelechi Oputa and Okeke John Obinna, who came in second, with 513 votes. The election was won by the pair running a joint ticket.

With 368 votes, Aroh Emmanuel won the position of association secretary, while Nnaji Emeka, who finished in second place with 336 votes, won the position of assistant secretary. Chukwujuba Echezonachigi and Odunukwe Nnamdi Damian were elected as welfare officers and financial secretary, respectively.
