No sit-at-home in South-East on Election Day, MASSOB declares

On Wednesday, the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra stated that there would be no sit-at-home protests or election boycotts in the South-East region on Election Day and advised Ndigbo to disregard any such calls.

MASSOB warned against a repeat of the Imo State mess, in which a governor was appointed against the people’s will, while encouraging South-East residents to participate in the upcoming elections.

The pro-Biafra agitation group advised its members to vote for their candidates on Election Day and insisted that the South-East region would not be in a vacuum while they pursued the restoration of the Independent State of Biafra.

As a result, it advised Ndigbo to vote in large numbers on Election Day, particularly for candidates who would not sacrifice Ndigbo for monetary gain.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Samuel Edeson, MASSOB’s National Director of Information, stated, “There shall be no sit-at-home on the days of elections.”

“Do not allow anyone to deceive you in the name of Biafra, because we know the real Biafra agitators and those paid to create confusion in our land,” was one portion of the statement.

“We cannot permit the enemies of Ndigbo to destroy our God-given land, which is why MassOB insists that an election take place in Igbo land.

“It is evident that some enemies of Ndigbo have acquired some of our brothers, brainwashed them, and turned them against their own people; as a result, they have killed our own people, ruined our economy, and made life difficult for our people.

“MASSOB wish to make it clear that as we move forward with the Biafra project, which is the restoration of the Independent State of Biafra,” Massob said, “we will not allow Igbo land to remain in vacuum.” As a result, Massob advised the Ndigbo to vote for their preferred candidates on February 25, 2023.

“Any group or persons saying that there shall be no election in Biafra land are enemies of Ndigbo and should be disregarded,” the group added. The enemies of Ndigbo will impose their puppet on our people, just like what happened in Imo State, if you don’t vote that day. Others will.

“MASSOB has instructed all of her members to vote for all of our candidates on election day.”
