Playing in Premier League my dream, says Osimhen

Victor Osimhen, the top scorer in Serie A, said on Monday that he wanted to play in the English Premier League.

The Nigerian striker, who was in Rome to accept the Foreign Press Association’s award for the Foreign Athlete of the Year in Italy, stated that he wanted to win the league for Napoli fans but also looked ahead.

The 24-year-old stated, “A lot of people worldwide consider the Premier League to be the best and strongest league.”

“Of course, I am working so hard to ensure that I achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League someday, but it is a process and I just want to keep on this momentum. I’m in one of the best leagues in the world, which is the Italian Serie A.

This season, he has scored 19 league goals, giving Napoli a 15-point lead as they try to win their first title since Diego Maradona.

He stated, “As a football player, you fall in love with football even more when you arrive in Napoli, because they base all of their lives on the game and the support for the team.”

“A big mission for me is to be able to try to give them something to remember,”

“At the point when you discuss Napoli, the main player who comes in the psyche of the fans is Maradona. Regardless of whether we can win the Scudetto, we can not contrast and how Maradona has helped this club, he’s in excess of a legend,” Osimhen said.

“We’ve been doing quite well this season, but I don’t consider myself an icon until we achieve the goal,” said the team’s captain.
