Nigeria, UK, others vote against Russia at UN General Assembly

Nigeria, along with 140 countries, on Wednesday, voted to demand the immediate withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine.

The United Nations General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution that “demands” Russia’s “immediately” withdrawal from Ukraine.

This represents a powerful rebuke of Moscow’s invasion by most of the world’s nations.

After over two days of extraordinary debate, 141 out of 193 member States voted for the non-binding resolution.

However, at least five countries took sides with Russia.
