Fans started trolling Cristiano Ronaldo after he was awarded the Man of the Match trophy after Al-Nassr’s match against Al-Shorta. According to the fans, the Portuguese player has finally gotten his hand on the World Cup Trophy.
Ronaldo‘s team Al-Nassr faced Al-Shorta for this season’s Arab Club Champions Cup. He was crowned the Man of the Match after scoring the only goal in the match.
The Man of the Match trophy, however, looked like a cheap miniature version of the prestigious World Cup Trophy. Even the Arab Club Champions Cup’s trophy looks like the replica of the World Cup Trophy which is one of the trophies that is missing from Ronalod’s trophy cabinet.
This incident was, however, enough for soccer fans to start trolling Cristiano Ronaldo. One fan tweeted, “Arab’s gave Ronaldo a mini World Cup to make him feel better.
While another fan joked, “Did you guys see Ronaldo’s World Cup trophy? He’s so happy! Finally won it.” A third fan added, “Ronaldo receiving his first World Cup trophy.”
On the other hand, some fans came forward to defend the Portuguese by reminding others about his achievements throughout his career. One fan wrote, “2nd goalscorer of the Year (23) behind Haaland (28) but medias prefer the other one.”
Another Ronaldo fan was seen echoing the same sentiments writing, “You lie all the time about him and he closes your mouth every time… The player who scored the most goal in history.”
Ronaldo’s national team Portugal was knocked out of the 2022 Qatar World Cup by Morocco. Thus, ending the player’s dream of ever winning the World Cup with his national team.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal send Al-Nassr into the Arab Club Champions Cup final
The former Manchester United player helped his team to reach the final of the Arab Club Champions final after his goal against Iraqi team Al-Shorta.
Cristiano Ronaldo converted a penalty in the 75th minute of the game after his new teammate Sadio Mane was fouled in the box. Al-Nassr was awarded the penalty and the 38-year-old made sure to convert from 12 yards. Thus sending Al-Nassr to the finals.
The Al-Nassr player has reached his first final since arriving at the Saudi Arabian club. Al-Nassr will face the winner of the match between Al Hilal and Al Shabab in the finals. Ronaldo could win his first silverware with Al-Nassr if they win the Cup final after failing to win any silverware last season.
