In the Nkwerre/Nwangele/Njaba/Isu Federal Constituency of Imo State, the Independent National Electoral Commission has halted the process of collating the results.
The election results for Njaba Local Government Area and the sheets with them vanished, prompting the suspension.
Ugonna Ozurigbo, a candidate for the People’s Democratic Party, received 16, 846 votes, according to INEC, while Harrison Nwadike, a candidate for the All Progressives Congress, received 6, 784 votes.
The Labour Party candidate finished in third place with 6, 609 votes.
Roseline Ogechukwu, the election’s returning officer, declared that she was unable to return any candidates because the results from the four LGAs had not yet been fully compiled. As a result, the election was suspended.
She requested that all election-related matters be sent to the INEC headquarters in Owerri, the state capital.
In the three LGAs collected thus far for the election of the constituency, PDP prevailed.
