In Hallelujah Estate located in Osogbo, Osun state, a tragic incident unfolded where a pair of dogs attacked and fatally consumed a five-year-old girl.
According to reports, the dogs not only claimed the girl’s life but also inflicted injuries upon her mother, who valiantly attempted to rescue her child. The mother reportedly sustained injuries on her buttock during her courageous effort. The distressing situation prompted nearby residents in the sparsely populated neighborhood to come to her aid.
As the young girl and her mother were strolling near a recently finished vacant structure in the vicinity, a distressing event unfolded when two dogs emerged and separated the mother from her child.
According to a statement in Vanguard, a witness named Sodiq Abass conveyed that the dogs had been alone in the building for an extended period. He mentioned that the tragic occurrence transpired due to the sparse presence of residents in the area, making it difficult to hear any cries for assistance.
Abass stated, “The dogs seemed intent on attacking the mother after they had already taken the life of her daughter. However, some passers-by witnessed the situation and swiftly alerted others for help. Unfortunately, aid didn’t arrive in time to save the little girl.”
Confirming the incident, SP Yemisi Opalola, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Osun State, acknowledged that efforts were underway to apprehend the owner of the building.
