Nigeria government told to conduct referendum to Regions seeking self determination

The African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate for 2023, Mr. Omoyele Sowore, has stated that Nigeria’s continued existence as a single, united nation should not be forced.

He believes that the people should vote in a referendum to decide whether they want to leave or stay.

The politician and news publisher went on to say that Nigeria’s current constitution, which was enacted in 1999, needs to be changed because the country’s citizens did not ratify it before it became law.

In an interview with The ICIR, he stated: Nigeria is at a point where either we work toward a perfect union or we abandon it entirely. One way to work toward a perfect union is to sit down and write a new Constitution. Once it is ratified and a referendum is organized so that everyone can vote for or against it, you are good to go.

“The 1999 Nigerian Constitution is nothing.” You can’t start making changes to it because the people didn’t make it and ratify it. In any case, that Constitutional amendment has become a source of corruption. The person who has been responsible for correcting Nigeria’s Constitution is in prison in the Assembled Realm (UK) for attempting to sell someone’s kidney. That is the absurdity of the Constitution review.

When asked if he doesn’t worry about being the president who will oversee the country’s disintegration, Sowore replied that he doesn’t, but that he’s not competing to make sure it breaks up but to keep it in perfect union.

He said that even those who aren’t physically demanding a break from Nigeria have mentally done so.

As per him, the best way to switch the developing pattern is to address principal shameful acts in the framework so individuals can have a real sense of security and blissful in their own territory.

“Yes, I said I don’t mind because Nigeria has become a bad marriage to many people,” he stated. That, then, is just one group of people who are sick of Nigeria.

Because it is currently illegal to display a Nigerian flag in public in the South-East, the region has reached 70% secession. Except for the state headquarters, most of the police stations have closed. The radio that is most famous in the South-East is Radio Biafra. They no longer conceal it because I was there. Thus, for you to bring them back, you won’t bring them back by beginning the Third Niger Extension. No. They have passed that stage. It will not be attainable. You must address their fundamental complaints in order to re-engage them. If you let them decide why they should stay in Nigeria, you might be surprised to learn that a referendum they hold under perfect union might not succeed. It could fail, but I’m not saying it will.

“Yoruba have expressed their desire to leave. Regardless of whether you like it or not, there are people who want separation. So, has the detention of Nnamdi Kanu diminished his power in any way? Sunday Igboho is perfectly functioning from Benin Republic when you drive him there.

Additionally, you are aware of a fourth group: individuals who wish to “Japa” (travel abroad). Thus, you have a nation in which many citizens have mentally separated. Everyone has had enough of the country known as Nigeria.
