Nigerians rate the APC’s chances in 2023 and the Buhari administration as a massive failure.

Numerous Nigerians are dissatisfied with the current administration and the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, with the general elections in 2023 less than three months away.
Some Nigerians who spoke with DAILY POST on the streets of Abuja made it clear that they do not have any personal issues with Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate, but that they feel betrayed by the party, President Muhammadu Buhari, and his administration. The APC and Muhammadu Buhari came into power in 2015 with a lot of mouthwatering campaign promises to Nigerians. However, these people also expressed a sense of betrayal by the party.Buhari and his party have made the following pledges:State and community policing, a public declaration of his assets and liabilities, the revival of the Ajaokuta steel company, the creation of an employment program to hire more than 740,000 graduates, the creation of three million jobs annually, the creation of 720,000 jobs annually by the states in the federation, the implementation of a national gender policy, the prohibition of medical tourism for all government officials, and the payment of allowances to youth who are unemployed, among other things.
Others include ECOWAS currency by 2020, free education for students of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and the elimination of state of origin in favor of state of residence to ensure that Nigerians are Nigerians first.
Among other significant campaign promises outlined in the party’s policy document, this administration also promised to establish the Crime Squad to combat terrorism, kidnapping, armed robbery, militants, ethno-religious and communal clashes nationwide. They also said they would prevent political office holders from earning more than their salaries and emoluments determined and approved by the Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Commission, RMFAC.
However, citizens believe that promises have been broken over the past seven years.
The citizens have had a very difficult life under Buhari’s APC administration because once-affordable goods have become pricey and out of reach for the average person.
Prices are almost 100% higher for bitter leaf, crayfish, garri, cooking gas, vegetables, and castor oil than they were a year ago;Over the past seven years, some actually exceed 100%.
Our correspondent’s survey checks revealed that a kilogram of chicken, which sold for N1,000 in 2015, now costs N2,200.Previously priced between N80 and N100, a bag of pure water now costs N300.
Also, from N6,000 in 2015 to N20,000 in 2022, a 50kg measure of white garri has more than doubled in price.
In 2015, 50 kilograms of rice sold for between N8000 and N10,000; in comparison, 50 kilograms of beans that sold for N21,500 in 2015 now sell for between N45,000 and N50,000.
A large basket of fresh pepper, which was sold for N11,000 in 2015, now costs N20,000, while a liter of oil, which was available for purchase for N250 in 2015, now costs between N800 and N1200.
Additionally, the price of a large basket of tomatoes has increased from N10,000 in 2015 to N17,000 today.
120 grams of noodles will also cost N220 in 2022, up from N100 in 2015.
A liter of vegetable oil, which cost N300 in 2015, now costs N1,700, while an egg crate that cost N600 in 2015 now costs between N2,200 and N2500.
Currently, ordinary people are unable to afford automobiles, electrical appliances, transportation, motor parts, building supplies, and other household appliances.
Therefore, the majority of Nigerians maintain that the Buhari administration has regressed the nation.
The fact that the APC presidential candidate was one of the individuals who contributed to our current predicament is the only issue I have with him. After all, everything he did as governor of Lagos State is visible to us.His physical and human structures. He wouldn’t have had much trouble succeeding Buhari if this administration had performed well. However, Nigerians are now asking themselves, “How do we travel this road again?”In Wuse, Abuja, Joel Agbo told DAILY POST, “Let’s not pretend that this administration has weakened the people, especially with hunger and starvation.”
Chigozie Onyekwere, another Abuja resident, stated, “Things have become ten times harder than they were before Buhari took over the government in 2015.”Nobody needs to know.Everyone has been affected, even those who once believed they were wealthy. It’s a trouble period for Nigerians and we can petition God for something better in 2023.Is it food, your home, transportation, or something else?
“Individuals are languishing.Even our security has completely vanished since Buhari assumed office in 2015.How many Nigerians have perished as a result of hardship, hunger, and insecurity, do you know? Therefore, if you ask me, my issue with Tinubu is that he is a member of the APC and helped bring Buhari to power, despite the fact that the APC has failed Nigerians. He must persuade Nigerians to continue to trust him in spite of the country’s current circumstances.
“Over the past seven years, the APC has completely failed Nigerians.I can think of absolutely nothing positive about this government. Is it the constant lack of fuel?Fuel scarcity is beginning to become a way of life for Nigerians these days. There are no more protests or complaints.Under this administration, weird things became common.
“Now, allow me to ask you a question: when was the most recent time you heard from Buhari? We are no longer aware of when he is in the area or has traveled for medical tourism. The majority of Nigerians—those of us who like this country—want a change in 2023 because the people are powerless. To answer your inquiry, Tinubu is not a problem for me.I don’t think anyone has the right to question someone who asserts that he is healthy and strong enough to lead Nigeria. But everyone is aware that the APC has not assisted him in any way.
The current administration didn’t care about the people.Tinubu must therefore work.He needs to persuade Nigerians that he can get the country out of this mess.As you can see, Buhari’s administration is the worst in this nation’s history. Now, how do they market themselves effectively to Nigerians?Yusuf Dankwairo inquired, “I don’t know.”
