Police Arrest 32 Suspected Kidnappers, Robbers In Adamawa, Recover ₦‎1.6m

On Monday, the Adamawa State Police Command showcased 32 individuals suspected of involvement in robberies and kidnappings. Among these suspects was Mustapha Mohammed, who was linked to the kidnapping of Zainab Abbas, the wife of an Adamawa State High Court judge. Zainab Abbas had been abducted from her residence in Nyibango, a residential area in Yola North Local Government Area, early in June.

During the presentation of the suspects to the media, Police Public Relations Officer SP Suleiman Nguroje provided a list of items that were recovered from them. These items included 13 AK-47 rifles, five locally made pistols, four pump-action guns, and a cash sum of N1,689,000, among other things.

Subsequently, Nguroje led journalists to the office of the state Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola. Commissioner Babatola honored 11 police officers and four hunters with merit plaques, acknowledging their pivotal roles in the successful arrests. Notably, many of the recognized police officers were from the Crack Squad of the state command.
