Tribunal Sacks APC’s Udende, Returns PDP’s Suswam

The Benue North East Senatorial Zone encompasses seven (7) Local Government Areas: Ukum, Konshisha, Katsina-Ala, Logo, Kwande, Ushongo, and Vandeikya LGAs.

The latest results of the Benue North East Senatorial Election, as declared by the Tribunal recently, are as follows:

  • APC: 82,699 votes
  • PDP: 90,590 votes

As a result of the Tribunal’s decision, Emmanuel Udende of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been removed, and Gabriel Suswam of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been reinstated as the Senator representing the Benue North East Senatorial District.

It’s worth noting that on February 27, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had initially announced that Emmanuel Udende Tordwem received 141,405 votes, defeating Gabriel Suswam, a former Governor, who secured 103,303 votes. Udende had previously served as a House of Representatives member for the Katsina Ala Ukum and Logo federal constituency.
