On Thursday, supporters of Peter Obi prevented a former Governor of the State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, from participating in a campaign for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. This resulted in some minor drama at Ring Road, Benin City, Edo State.
Oshiomhole, the party’s Edo North senatorial candidate and former National Chairman, was with other chieftains, including Valentine Asuen, the party’s Edo South senatorial candidate.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, the jubilant Obi’s supporters, also known as “Obidients,” began chanting “Obi!” as soon as Oshiomhole and his team got out of their branded vehicles and stood on the podium. Obi! Obi constantly.
Security personnel immediately helped Oshiomhole and his entourage, who appeared defeated and confused, get down from the podium and into their respective vehicles.
