Worshipper gunned down, pastor, others abducted as kidnappers suspected to be Fulani Herdsmen invade Benue church

The Christian Pentecostal Church in the Akenawe-Tswarev community of Logo Local Government Area of Benue State was attacked by armed men who are thought to be Fulani Herdsmen. One worshiper was killed, and the resident pastor and three others were taken away.

The assailants are said to have carried out the attack on Sunday morning during a vigil.

The occupant minister, who was recognized as Gwadue Kwaghtyo, was allegedly driving petition when the shooters attacked the congregation and started shooting at admirers.

Mrs. Salome Tor, Chairman of Logo LGA, disclosed the unpleasant incident to journalists on Sunday.

He stated, “It was early this morning (still the night). A vigil was held by a church in one of the branches. They were surrounded by the armed men as they were praying.

“With a machete, they kidnapped three people, killed one boy, and injured two others; They are currently hospitalized.
