Everyday POST reports that since the party’s official primaries in February, PDP has been enmeshed in an authority emergency.
The rise of Atiku Abubakar as the party’s official competitor and his decision of Lead representative Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State as his running mate demolished the emergency.
Lead representative Nyesom Wike of Waterways State, who came next during the primaries, is distressed that Atiku overlooked him and picked Okowa as his running mate.
As the emergency expanded, Wike’s camp requested the acquiescence of the party’s Public Executive, Iyorchia Ayu.
Regardless of moves by Atiku’s camp to mollify Wike’s camp, the last option has been inflexible, demanding that its interest should be met.
Remarking on the issue, a socio-political expert, Deji Adeyanju, said the emergency among Wike and the party’s initiative would influence PDP’s possibilities in 2023.
Talking with Day to day POST, Adeyanju said: “OK, obviously, I suspect as much since I think Atiku and his mission group have continued on from Wike, so regardless of the commotion he makes, they don’t mind any longer.
“Wike is getting carried away and he has come to his meaningful conclusion; there is compelling reason need to go this way and that on similar issues; it looks immature.
“Furthermore, obviously, the complaint with Atiku will influence the possibilities of PDP, on the grounds that it is absolutely impossible that a separated house will stand.”
