4 Youths Arrested Over Alleged Robbery In Yola

The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended four individuals on charges of robbery in Yola, the state capital.

In a statement released by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, it was revealed that these arrests were the result of a new operational strategy introduced by Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, aimed at curbing the activities of the Shilla gangsterism in the state capital.

The suspects, aged between 18 and 23 years, were accused of robbing residents in the Demsawo and Nasarawo wards of Jimeta in Yola North Local Government Area. The individuals arrested are Kabiru Yahaya (18 years old), a resident of Kala’a’ Street; Abdulazeez Mohammed (23 years old), a resident of Wuro Kuturu; Adamu Babayo (18 years old), a resident of Bauchi Street; and Ibrahim Mohammed (20 years old), a resident of Nasarawo Borehole, all located in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area.

The arrests were made on Sunday, September 10, by a joint team comprising police officers and members of the Local Security Support Group (vigilantes). Dangerous weapons and their operational tricycle were seized from the suspects.

SP Suleiman Nguroje assured the public that the suspects would be prosecuted in accordance with the applicable laws.
